My birthday, as I have mentioned a few times in previous blog posts, is something that I like to stretch out as long as possible. So, in true ‘me’ style I organised a get-together in London, a couple of weeks after the big day to celebrate…again.
Having been out for various meals, drinks and nights out since hitting the capital, I thought what better way to get my favourites together than a brunch? But, not any old brunch…Bottomless Brunch with two capital ‘Bs’.
So, me along with my eight gorgeous girlies headed to ‘Avenue’ at St. James to enjoy the most fabulous, ‘Blair Waldorf’ morning. Having done my research on various ‘free-flowing’ brunches, I thought that £23.50 for two courses, plus £15 for unlimited prosecco was pretty good going – I’ll admit at first I was skeptical as to how much fizz we would actually be allocated during our two hour window. However, seven glasses down I think we got our money’s worth!
Other than copious amounts of bubbles and girl time, birthdays mean one more thing: the diet is non-existent until you get home (and that includes your guests too, of course!) So, we all indulged in plates full of poached eggs, smoked salmon, avocado and hollandaise sauce, pancakes with candied bacon and maple syrup, waffles with berry compote and even burgers for the more adventurous. It really was a champion of brunches and was the perfect setting to catch up with friends and enjoy some quality girl-time.
The restaurant itself is also a gorgeous location for a special occasion. With flower garlands filling the front window as you walk in, you are welcomed by a team of friendly faces. The vast space, means that whether you are visiting with a couple of friends, a large party or on a date, it caters for everyone. A shout out must go to our incredible waiter, who when asked to take a photo for us, proceeded to carry out a mini photo-shoot from every angle – needless to say I got the insta.
The restaurant is just a few minutes walk from Green Park tube station, but visit the website here for more details about location and menus! After struggling to find somewhere suitable for a group bottomless brunch on a Sunda and reading many articles and guides on Google, I would definitely recommend the Avenue as a top choice – great food, great atmosphere and incredible value for money.
